Perth Rheumatology is a practice dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of all rheumatological diseases. The practice was established in 2009 and has recently relocated to its current location in the heart of Subiaco. We are situated in Subiaco a short distance from SJOG Subiaco Hospital.  Our rheumatologists focus on patient care and are committed to communicating understandable information to patients regarding their diagnosis, options and treatment plan.  Our doctors attend local and international events on a regular basis to keep up to date with all the latest evidence-based treatment.

Infection Control

Perth Rheumatology’s infection control guidelines are based on state and federal guidelines and standards, supported by advice from local specialist Microbiologists and utilise currently accepted practices and procedures.

The Practice routinely uses disposable, single use gloves, needles and syringes. It provides gowns, face masks, protective glasses and sterilising fluids for use in appropriate infection control guidelines. Medical equipment that is to be re-used is cleaned and sterilised in accordance with Australian Standard (AS/NZS 4815).

PARKING

Whilst there is 3 hour (with the first hour free) street parking on both Sheen and Wexford Street this is not always available.

 

In this instance, we recommend parking in the underground carpark at Woolworths (1.5 hrs free with the entrance being off the Station Street roundabout), the Coles underground park cars ( 3 hrs free with the entrance being off Hood Street) and the Bunnings carpark (2 hrs free on Salvado Road). Please arrive early allowing ample time to secure parking.

 

Wheelchair access is available on Sheen Street side in front of Core Vision.

SERVICES

Consultations:  Our new patient appointments generally take around 45 minutes, in which time the doctor will undertake a complete physical examination and review of any pathology or radiology brought with you.   Follow up appointments generally take 20 minutes.

 

 

Telehealth: Dr Mazur is able to offer her country patients some review consultations via Skype

 

 

WHAT YOU NEED FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

 

In order to see one of our consultant rheumatologists you will require a valid referral from your doctor.  Referrals from your GP last for 12 months and referrals from another specialist last for 3 months. 

 

Please bring any x-rays and recent blood results with you to your appointment

 

We are a privately billing practice.  Accounts are required to be paid on the day of consultation.  With a valid referral you will get a large portion of the consultation fee back from Medicare.  We are able to send your account off to Medicare for you and you should receive your rebate, directly into your bank account, in the next 24-48 hours.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

 

Generally you will require an appointment for any prescriptions.  If you have recently seen one of our doctors and need a repeat prescription this can be organised over the phone for a fee of $15.00.  This is at the discretion of the individual doctor.

 

The replacement of PBS Authority Scripts is $25.
